I discovered my unexpected passion for uniquely designed hats when those of my Fathers were passed down to me as heirlooms before his passing. Not only were these hats the most precious gifts of all, but a sign, a realisation I was destined to stumble upon - to somehow excite and inspire, everyday.

Looking out at my surroundings, having the Australian landscape as my backdrop, I felt a strong desire and connection to create something timeless with no boundaries.

“ I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains, of ragged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains. I love her far horizons, I love her jewel sea, her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me. ”                                                 - Dorothea Mackellar 1904.

My love affair with Australia and fashion come together with Phylli. The practice of Hat Making has remained a noble and creative art since the beginning of time. It’s becoming one of fashions oldest accessories to go beyond ones lifetime.

It is my story to bring handmade craftsmanship back into today in a sustainable and contemporary way that preserves and protects the traditions of hat makers before me.

Growing up in Australia’s horse capital in Scone, New South Wales, and having been raised in Melbourne and living in iconic coastal towns in Sorrento, Bondi and Airlie Beach I have always enjoyed being part of a community that makes a place feel like home.

My vision for Phylli is to create a community so that wherever we journey, we can always feel connected in some way. From my hands to your heart - and passed down through generations to come.
